The Little Jack’s Story
Back in 2010, our founder, James, was in London, crafting top-notch pot pies. But the call of his beloved West Country was too strong to ignore. So, he packed up his kit and headed back home with a new mission: to make the ultimate sausage roll using the finest local ingredients from equally passionate West Country producers.
As circumstance would have it, Little Jack’s was dealt a wonderful twist of fate. James wanted a playful nod to the classic nursery rhyme and subsequently set up the bakery outside the village of Mells, 10 miles south of Bath—the very birthplace of the nursery rhyme itself. You couldn’t make this stuff up!
Since then, Little Jack’s has grown, but we’ve never lost our roots. We now have a dedicated team of brilliant sausage roll bakers, led by superstar manager Lucy, who ensures that every roll is handcrafted with care and attention.
We believe food is a connection, and nothing says "comfort" like a warm, flaky sausage roll... and we guarantee they taste better when made with local, free-range pork and chicken, and dairy from small, high-welfare farms in Somerset and Dorset.
Through thick and thin (including the wild times of 2020, when we turned our bakery into a community hub), we’ve always stayed true to our core values—wholesome food, responsibly sourced ingredients, and a generous spirit. Whether you're picking up a roll from your local farm shop or serving them at your coffee shop, we want every bite to bring comfort and joy, the way good food should.
Today, Little Jack’s continues to grow as a freshly baked sausage roll wholesale supplier, couriering directly to coffee shops, delis, caterers, farm shops, and bars from Cornwall to Scotland. With a focus on quality and a commitment to keeping our fresh ingredients as local as possible, we’re on a mission to be known as The Best in the South West. We’ve won numerous Great Taste and Taste of the West Awards, as well as regional small business awards in recognition of our achievements.
We’re more than just sausage rolls—we’re part of the fabric of the West Country’s rural economy, celebrating the region’s incredible food heritage with a nationwide community. We want you to be proud of us as your local sausage roll makers, no matter where your business is situated across the country.

James Hughes Davies
FOUNDER
James is the heart behind Little Jack’s. After starting out making pot pies in the back of a pub and flogging them at markets across London, he felt the call to return home and bring his passion for local, high-quality food to life in his natural rural habitat in Somerset. In 2010, he set out to create the ultimate sausage roll. With a dedication to sourcing the finest local fresh ingredients and a commitment to supporting the rural economy, James has grown Little Jack’s into a much loved and award-winning name. You can still find James out catching up with customers at food festivals across the South West, and at national trade shows.
